Ryan Murphy has confirmed that next year most of the current Glee cast will be gone for good.
According to Ryan, favorites including Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Dianna Agron will graduate from Prospect High in 2012, and will then be replaced by a whole new line-up of musical wannabes.
“That is true,” Murphy told Ryan Seacrest. “I don’t think of it in terms of eliminating or replacing. Because I think the thing about this cast is people love them and they are incredibly talented. They’ve left sort of an indelible mark.
And because the whole concept of Glee was that it was a high school club – Ryan says it made sense that they’re replaced. However, the teachers – played by Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch – will stick around.
“The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn’t want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years,” he added. “We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline.”
“We’ve got Matt Morrison and Jane Lynch who will stay and be the male and female lynchpins of the series. But I think the fun thing about the show is it’s a celebration of youth and talent and I think that just like with the original cast.
“I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break into the business and become stars is a really fun and exciting thing and is the spirit of the series.”

Glee(2010-)

I guess I’m excited.. But I’m gonna miss Artie, Brittany, Quinn, Finn, Puck and Santana!! I’m kind of nervous as what of the replacements are not as good as the original cast? What if they are not as beautiful as most of the Cheerios! in glee? Is it after season 3 they are replaced or in season 3? And are the original cast going to appear some time later? Please email me…
